Through the eons, the goddess Urd and the demoness Mara shared a friendship that managed to survive their enmity.  Now, with Belldandy retired from her post as head Norn, and Urd filling her sister's place, the new Goddess of the Present calls upon her old friend to change jobs, starting her off on the greatest path of all.

Under the mentorship of Bell and Urd and the protection of the legendary Joan of Arc, Mara begins her studies as the new Goddess of the Past.  But every deity needs an assistant, an angel, to help along.  The question is, is Mara's new executive assistant a help or a hindrance?

Racing to correct a wrong she did in her previous job, Mara comes face to face with powerful demons who aren't too happy about her new job and never really liked her to begin with.  But never count the newest Goddess of the Past out....
